Katrin Patergin
Group Class Instructor, Private Trainer & Head Day Trainer
Pronouns: (she/her/hers)
From a young age, Katrin has always held a deep affection for dogs. Their intelligence, communication, and unique personalities have captivated her throughout her life. She began her career working as a dog walker for many years, building strong relationships with dogs in real-world, everyday environments and learning firsthand how different each dog truly is.
Katrin pursued her formal education at the Animal Behavior College and the Nordic Education Center for Dog Trainers, where she graduated from the Ethical Dog Trainer program with a focus on calming signals, canine communication, and behavior. Her work is grounded in positive reinforcement and fear-free, dog-centered training methods that prioritize emotional wellbeing, trust, and the dog–human relationship.
A central part of Katrin’s approach is enrichment that supports overall wellbeing and helps her better understand each individual dog. She uses enrichment and recreational nose work to encourage natural behaviors, build confidence, and support emotional regulation, guided by the dog’s preferences and needs.
Katrin is committed to ongoing professional development and regularly attends seminars, workshops, and continuing education courses to deepen her knowledge and stay current in the field of dog training and behavior.
In her free time, Katrin enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and sharing enrichment activities with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Jacky.
